About a year ago, I saw another photographer that had done a long exposure of an eddy like this with the cool swirls. Since then, I’ve been looking for just such a spot on a creek or river that I could do something similar. It seems that before I had seen that photo every creek had these, but since then not a one. While shooting Mill Creek Falls, I decided to do some creek hopping and there before me was this nice slow swirl. Unfortunately, I was losing light and there wasn’t much in the water to catch what little light I had but I will definitely be back here in the fall when I’m sure there will be plenty of leaves to really help the swirls stand out.
