One of the cool things about sassafras trees is that they have three different shaped leaves. So I thought it would be really cool to get a photo of one of these trees in the fall with each of the different shapes present in a variety of fall colors. So, I spent the entire fall searching for a specimen that would match what I was trying to get, but was never able to find what I was after. This was close, but not quite it. I’ll have to try again next year.
