My wife laughs at me because of shots like this. Most days it’s a struggle for me to get out of bed in the morning. I hit snooze until the very last minute nearly every morning. On days when I go out to shoot though, it doesn’t matter how late I got to bed, I am up at the first alarm. It seems there are few things that get me out of bed quite like the prospect of chasing a sunrise with my camera in hand. 

This was shot this past Sunday. I woke up before dawn and hiked up Stone Mountain in hopes of getting some sunrise shots. Unfortunately, it was pretty cloudy, so I didn’t get to see the moment of sunrise, but I did manage to catch a few moments of interesting light as the sun peaked from behind the clouds.
